Our Italian adventure begins as we depart the United States on our international flight to Rome. After crossing the Atlantic, we arrive in the Eternal City and are greeted by our local representative, who assists us with entry formalities. We then transfer to our hotel, settle in, and take time to rest after the long journey. The remainder of the day is at leisure as we adjust to the time change and begin soaking in the atmosphere of Rome.

Today falls on the first Sunday of the month, making it the perfect opportunity for a flexible and relaxing start to our trip. Many of Rome’s museums and cultural sites offer free admission, so we keep this day open to explore at our own pace. Whether we choose to visit iconic landmarks, enjoy a leisurely meal, wander through charming neighborhoods, or simply rest and recharge, this free day gives us time to ease into our journey before the busy schedule begins tomorrow.

Today, we begin our immersive exploration of Rome’s ancient wonders—an experience designed to help us truly understand the Eternal City without feeling rushed. We start with a deep dive into life in Ancient Rome, stepping inside the legendary Colosseum to uncover the stories behind the brutal gladiator battles that once captivated the masses.

Afterward, we explore the historic heart of the empire as we walk through the Roman Forum, the center of civic, political, and commercial life in antiquity. We continue up to Palatine Hill, where emperors and aristocrats once lived in grandeur and where sweeping views of Rome unfold before us.

As we journey through these iconic sites, we gain a richer perspective on Rome’s ancient world—its power, its culture, and the daily lives of the people who shaped history. This thoughtful pace allows us to absorb the significance of each location as we begin our two-day deep dive into the best of Rome.

We begin our day exploring some of Rome’s most beloved icons in the historic center, including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona. After taking in these timeless masterpieces, we make our way across town to the sovereign city-state of the Vatican.

Here, we come face-to-face with Michelangelo’s breathtaking Sistine Chapel, an artistic achievement that has inspired visitors for centuries. We then continue into the vast and awe-inspiring St. Peter’s Basilica, the spiritual heart of the Catholic faith and one of the most magnificent churches in the world.

Our day concludes at the Castel Sant’Angelo, where we enjoy panoramic views that are often considered the very best in Rome. Blending world-famous landmarks with hidden gems, this day offers a perfect balance of discovery and wonder—an unforgettable introduction to the Eternal City.

Today, we set out on a beautiful journey to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and one of Italy’s most captivating cities. As we arrive, we’re greeted by breathtaking architecture, vibrant streets, and a rich artistic legacy that has shaped the world.

We explore Florence’s historic center, beginning with landmarks such as the Duomo, with its iconic dome designed by Brunelleschi, and the elegant Piazza della Signoria, home to grand statues and the historic heart of Florentine civic life. We stroll across the charming Ponte Vecchio, the city’s oldest bridge, lined with artisan shops and unmatched views of the Arno River.

Depending on timing and group interest, we may visit one of Florence’s renowned museums—such as the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s David or the Uffizi Gallery, home to masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and more.

Throughout the day, we immerse ourselves in Florence’s artistry, culture, and warm Tuscan ambiance. After a full day of exploration, we return to Rome in the evening, enriched by the beauty and history of this remarkable city.

Today, we journey south to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Amalfi Coast, one of Italy’s most iconic and picturesque regions. As we travel along the dramatic coastline, we’re greeted with sweeping cliffs, sparkling turquoise waters, and charming villages that seem to cling to the mountainside.

We spend the day exploring some of the coast’s most beloved towns, such as Positano, with its cascading pastel homes and boutique, lined lanes, and Amalfi, known for its stunning cathedral and lively piazzas. We take time to wander, shop, relax by the sea, or savor classic coastal dishes like fresh seafood and lemon-infused specialties.

If time allows, we may also visit Ravello, perched high above the coast and famous for its gardens, villas, and unforgettable panoramic views.

Throughout the day, we soak in the elegance and natural beauty of the Amalfi region before returning to Rome in the evening. This unforgettable coastal escape offers the perfect blend of relaxation, exploration, and postcard-worthy scenery.

Today, we journey north to Milan, Italy’s chic and modern metropolis known for its fashion houses, world-class architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. After arriving and settling in, we begin our exploration at the magnificent Duomo di Milano, a Gothic masterpiece whose rooftop terraces offer incredible city views. We continue through the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, home to luxury boutiques, historic cafés, and iconic architecture.

We will also visit Santa Maria delle Grazie to view Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper or stroll through the artistic Brera District, filled with galleries, narrow streets, and Milanese charm.

This evening, we dive into Milan’s dynamic nightlife, from stylish lounges and rooftop bars to lively aperitivo spots where locals gather to unwind. Whether we choose a sophisticated cocktail venue or a bustling night district like Navigli, Milan offers endless ways to enjoy the city after dark.

We return to our hotel for a comfortable overnight stay in the heart of Milan.

Today, we escape to the serene beauty of Lake Como, one of the most enchanting destinations in all of Italy. Surrounded by dramatic mountains, lush gardens, and charming villages, Lake Como offers the ideal blend of relaxation and breathtaking scenery.

We start our day with exploring the elegant town of Como, known for its historic center, lakeside promenade, and inviting cafés. We then continue by boat across the shimmering waters—one of the most picturesque experiences in the region. As we glide along the lake, we admire grand villas, cypress-lined gardens, and postcard-perfect landscapes.

We visit one of the lake’s beloved towns, such as Bellagio, often called the “Pearl of Lake Como,” where we wander cobblestone streets, browse local shops, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. After touring, we have the opportunity to explore additional lakeside villages or relax with a leisurely lunch overlooking the water.

After returning, we have another opportunity to experience Milan’s famed nightlife. Whether we choose to enjoy aperitivo in the Navigli canal district, dance at one of Milan’s trendy clubs, or relax at an upscale rooftop bar overlooking the city lights, Milan delivers unforgettable evenings to complement our daytime adventures.

Today, we say arrivederci to Italy as our journey comes to an end. After a final breakfast in Milan, we transfer to the airport for our international flight back to the United States. As we board our plane, we reflect on the unforgettable experiences we’ve shared from ancient wonders and Renaissance masterpieces to breathtaking coastlines, lakeside beauty, and vibrant nightlife.
